    -BS in Music Recording from University of Southern California, Thornton School of Music. -Recorded, mixed & mastered over 10,000 songs! -Over 15 Years in the recording business, from analog 2" multi-track to the latest Pro tools system. -Lead locally successful rock band as guitarists and singer, Bay Area, 1993-1995. -Full recording and mixing background. Strong technical knowledge of audio recording systems, signal flow, acoustics, audio wiring and troubleshooting. Mechanical and electrical engineering background, studio maintenance, repair and electronic modifications. - I have worked with Los Angeles' finest studio musicians along with some of the top advertising agency clients for national TV and radio commercials for over 14 years. I have performed over 1000 'recording sessions' as the first engineer, tracked and mixed literally thousands of songs, everything from rock pop jazz to big band and orchestra. Highly experienced in session set-up, from hardware to software, fully capable of complete session preparation and organization. -Advertising: Recent highlights include recording and mixing Paul Bessenbacher's (Emoto music) musical arrangement of "Mercy Street", a PSA for the National Domestic Violence Hotline, winner of 2010 AICP award and 2011 CLIO Bronze award for musical adaptation. Other past highlights include Opus Orange iPhone ad and CareerBuilder 2010 SuperBowl Spot. -TV Shows: Recorded and mixed original music main title theme for Disney's 'Wizards of Waverly Place', 'The Suite Life of Zack & Cody', and 'The Suite Life On Deck.' -Feature Films: Re-Recording mixer for independent feature ‘Savage Land’ (2014), 5.1 orchestral music mixing for Chinese feature film, ‘Day of Redemption’ (2013). I am reliable and trustworthy. Major Guitar influences: Jimi Hendrix, Carlos Santana, David Gilmour, Jimmy Page, John McLaughlin, Tony Iommi. I teach music production with computers, specifically Avid 'Pro Tools'. I come to you with a full blown recording studio on my lap top. Learn everything from conforming tempos to audio editing, gain structure and other top secret tips and tricks for maximum efficiency in the studio. Books for recording, "Handbook of Recording Engineering" by John M. Eargle and "Modern Recording Techniques" by Huber & Runstein. Lessons are custom planned for EACH student. I also teach classical, acoustic and electric jazz and rock guitar. In addition, I also teach electric bass. I teach you how to play your instrument by having fun, learning the songs YOU want to play. Students have the opportunity and are encouraged to learn how to read and write music. Learn all the notes on the fret board, intervals, chords harmony and voices. Learn ear training, aural skills and music theory. Understand tone, eq, compression, reverbs, delays, rotary, flange, phasers,etc. Some books I recommend for teaching are"Solo Guitar Playing" by Frederick M.Noad. "Diatonic Major and Minor Scales" by Andres Segovia, "Hanon for Guitar" by Alred Publishing, and Modern Method for Guitar by William G. Leavitt. Furthermore, advanced students can learn how to improvise over complex musical changes by exploring musical scales western and other cultures. *** Studio Equipment *** Avid Pro Tools 10 Analog 2 inch multi-track All the popular plug-ins Awesome analog outboard gear *** Travel Equipment *** I will provide music stand , amp, cable and instrument for myself. I would expect students to have their own music stand, amp, cable and instrument. I expect student to have 2 chairs and a quiet area to teach. All guitar, classical guitar, bass, and music theory lessons must be at students home.
