It all started when I took my first drum lesson in the 4th grade. From then on, I wanted to play whenever I could. I played in all my school bands from middle school to high school. Graduated Southern University, home of the world famous "Human Jukebox" which I was a member of for 3 years, as well as playing for my church since I was 13.
Along the way I have had the honor of meeting and learning from respected musicians such as Lawrence Jackson (former director of SU Bands), Herman Jackson (Brother of Randy Jackson), Jerry Lee Lane (Marching percussion pioneer) and countless others.
As a drummer that has played in all kinds of styles and venues, I can teach any skill level from the first time picking up sticks to making good drummers great and great drummers legendary.
Using my experience as a school band director (4 years), I will come up with a customized lesson plan for each of my students that will stay on the best possible path to success. It is also because of this experience that I am also able to teach all concert/jazz band instrument method (ex. trumpet, flute, electric bass, etc.)
I have been involved in music since I was about 8 years old. I began by taking drum lessons and my teacher inspired me to always go above and beyond when it comes to your instrument. It is my hope that I can bring that same enthusiasm and inspire future students the same way.
