Learn piano from an expert teacher with almost 3 decades of piano experience!

Are you interested in learning how to play your favorite contemporary song? Or are you trying to learn the basics of piano and you don't know where to start? Let's work on these things together! My lessons are based on your understanding of the piano, whether it's figuring out how to improvise over lead sheets, or starting with the essentials if it's your first time at the piano bench. Geared towards beginner and intermediate students, I will be your guide as we move through fundamental fingering, scales, and rhythms just to name a few. Once we've achieved the basics, we will then move on towards some more complex sheet music or to improvising chord charts of your favorite contemporary songs. Send me a message to see if we're a good match! 🙂

Hello! I am a professional singer-songwriter and recording artist who sings and plays piano. After getting a double major in Music and Economics from Duke University, I completed my Masters in Music with a focus in Film Scoring at New York University. Since graduating with my Masters, I have now been working in the music industry for over a decade! I teach voice students of all types of experiences, whether you're someone who is just starting out, or a more seasoned vocalist who wants to continue to improve and needs an accountability partner. Either way, your voice is unique to you, and I will teach you by applying many worthwhile vocal techniques and warm-ups that will help you unlock your truest singing voice. As you develop your vocals, we'll then learn to sing with confidence, emotion, and feeling. My piano lessons are geared more towards beginner and intermediate levels. I studied classical piano for over 10 years and then switched to studying jazz piano for the next 6 years. For the last 20 years, however, I have been developing contemporary keyboard as my primary instrument and piano style. I will cater the lessons to the need of the student, whether that's learning scales and reading music in a classical sense, or by reading chord charts and ultimately improvising your way through a lead sheet. As a recording artist, I have released several singles, cover songs, and EPs, while touring and performing live at various venues, music festivals, and house concerts around the country. I perform live as a musical duo over on Twitch several times a week and collaborate with other Twitch musicians. Now based out of my studio in North Jersey, I'm excited to meet you and come up with a lesson plan that is based around your own musical needs!
