About Katie P.
Hello! I am Katie P. and I have been teaching for three years. In 2016, I received my Bachelor's of Music in Vocal Performance from James Madison University and my Masters of Music in Vocal Performance from Peabody in 2018. While I attended Peabody, I lived with my parents in Bel Air, so I taught there, and I still do!
I have studied voice for six years, and have sung in operas, operettas, choirs, and musicals. I have played the cello for fourteen years.
Looking forward to teaching you!

Katie is fantastic! My daughter is an experienced vocalist and raved about her.
she is a very good, patient and charismatic teacher!!! and she knows her job!!!
Katie was SO nice and within five minutes I was completely at ease. She took the time to ask questions and get to know me and my goals before we started working together. We jumped right in and I left my first lesson feeling encouraged and with a better understanding of my range and what I am capable of. I gained more from one lesson with Katie than I got from four years of singing in high school! She's super knowledgeable and personable. I can't wait to continue my lessons with Katie!Show More
I took this course to help me to sing. It did help me but I realized that it would take years of practice for me to be able to sing well. At this time I was more interested in politics and couldn’t put the time or money into it.
I thought I would work on wedding songs and have been challenged to revisit the classical music I used to love! I am so rusty and not very talented and Katie is so patient. Positive reinforcement, gentle challenging, fantastic explanation and modeling. I've gotten so much more from the sessions so far than I ever anticipated.Show More
Customized constantly to my needs, abilities, fantastic positive reinforcement, great talent and experience.

Katie is awesome! she is a great teacher and I am learning a lot working with her-I feel like my voice really got better because of how she taught me! I feel like she really understands me and my voice and I feel comfortable when talking to her. She makes me laugh and she is very funny. Very enthusiastic and knowledgeable teacher!
This was my first year taking voice lessons, and Katie helped me astronomically. In just the first month, I made a lot of improvement. She also helped me find some rep that works with my voice, and is very knowledgeable about all things vocal. Katie is #1, taken lessons from her and only her!Show More
