I’ve been a soprano in the full-time Chorus at The Metropolitan Opera since 2012. I’ve sung in over 1200 performances in many different languages and styles.

I have 20 years or professional experience in opera, have worked for 8 seasons as a Soprano in the world renowned Full-Time Metropolitan Opera Chorus, and attended Indiana University’s Jacobs School of Music for both my Bachelor’s and Master’s in Music. My experience combined with my knowledge of vocal technique and my joy and excitement in helping others do their best make for fun and challenging lessons, from beginner to professional student! I teach student ranging from beginning high schoolers to colleagues at the Met, and everywhere in between!

Hello, I’m Kate! I am a professional opera singer who has been with the Metropolitan Opera for 8 seasons in their full-time chorus as a soprano. Prior to that, I traveled around the US as a soloist, singing with many opera companies and symphonies. That being said, I have a lot of experience singing myself, and observing others, which has helped me become a better teacher! 

I love to teach, and hope to help you learn not only excellent, safe and efficient vocal technique, but also hope to help boost your confidence and have FUN while we are doing both. 

My teaching style is open, honest and kind, but I will ask you to challenge yourself. I want you to learn a lot but have a good time while doing so!

Kate is an excellent teacher and colleague. We sing together for many hours within a season and so I trust her ears to catch any changes and bad habits that might be forming. She helped me prepare a tough recital outside of our Met duties in 2019 and kept me on track the entire time. She is amazing and fun to work with - Great for any level of student!
