Effective guitar lessons with an experienced and patient teacher.

Specializing in beginning to intermediate guitar. Lessons have an emphasis on clarity and achievement for beginning students, and progress and excellence for advancing students, all while keeping it fun. I am patient and take time to get to know my students, teaching with a combination of standard and classical methods, and incorporating the music you really want to play. Classical? Pop/Rock/Indie? Worship? Whether you're learning for pleasure or future performance, I'd love to help you reach your musical goals. I have a broad musical background and experience: over twenty years teaching/leading/performing vocal music (both in schools and churches); over fifteen years teaching/performing on flute and guitar; over thirteen years teaching violin. I have taught thousands of students both privately and in group classes, in person, and the last couple of years online. My Bachelor of Arts is in Vocal Performance and Conducting, but for the last thirteen years I have taught instrumental students in public school. Most of my performance experience is vocally and on guitar. I am a member of the Music Teachers National Association and the American String Teacher's Association. Eighteen years public school teaching: choral, string orchestra, wind band - elementary through middle school grades. Over thirty years vocal and guitar performance, predominantly church related. I love teaching music and I'd love to teach you!
