I expect my students to have an instrument, and staff paper as well as an media they use to compose (laptop, tablet, etc.). I will provide handouts and other materials needed for that days lesson.

I have 15 years of experience as a brass player, and 10 years experience in theory and composition. I have had many of my pieces performed around the world. A few of my students have gone on to write, and one of them has even won awards for their pieces.
