I started taking drum lessons at age 22 so I felt too old to begin learning how to play a new instrument. I'm so glad that Dennis was my teacher. He gave me confidence and encouragement to become the great drum player I am today. His methods of teaching are well rounded, his lesson plans are efficient and since day one he guaranteed I would be ready to play songs with a band in only 6 months. Indeed I started playing with several bands after 6 months of having lessons with Dennis. I highly recommend him as a drum teacher and mentor!

V patient w/beginners and provided excellent tips and encouragement. Would recommend to anyone starting out on drums or adding another instrument to their repertoire. Provided great insight that also helped in cross-training, if already playing another instrument.

My lessons are very student driven and revolve around developing students innate music abilities to help them connect and experience success as well as enriching their lives with music. In my lessons students will develop music appreciation skills by listening to music, understanding basic music theory concepts, growing a knowledge of historical awareness in music all alongside learning the instrument of their chosen preference. The pace set for the sessions is rather relaxed and is highly dependent on the student but, students are guided throughout the sessions to eventually achieve their goals. I have been teaching voice and piano since 2010, and I love sharing music with others! I am available for in-home and online lessons, and I teach a variety of styles for both voice and piano. My higher education studies are in vocal performance with a focus on classical music, opera, and art song, but a lot of my vocal students work on musical theater and popular repertoire. My piano students also play a variety of styles, and I teach many to play and sing at the same time!

I treat every student with respect, and I truly enjoy getting to know them as well. I like to have fun in my lessons, but I also have years of training and musical knowledge to impart to my students. I am well versed in vocal pedagogy (the science of vocal production), and I use this education to promote healthy singing! I received my Bachelor of Music in Vocal Perf

About Toni
Just a couple of seasons ago one of my amazing students, Juliana Chahayed made top 40 on American Idol! 2 of my students recently made it through two rounds of The Voice. 12 of my students sang on the Grammy Award nominated "Hurry Up, We're Dreaming" by M83. My students have also gotten into top music programs at Berklee College of Music, NYU, USC, Brandeis and Cal State University Northridge; won 1st prize in the high school talent show and money prizes in community singing contests. My singers have sung the Star Spangle Banner at Staples Center for a Clipper's game and produced successful showcases in the LA area. My story starts a while back: As a singer/songwriter my experiences singing live from Bud Friedman's Improv to the Disneyland Hotel and in studios all across Los Angeles eventually took me to Europe where I landed in
Brussels and recorded an album for Sony Records/Belgium which produced three radio hits in the 90's. I also recorded and/or wrote jingles for Coca Cola, Fanta, Schwepes, Fisher Price and more! Fluent in French, when I moved back to the states I taught at Lycee International de Los Angeles for 12 years where I developed a music program for their 4 campuses, teaching K through 12, including commendations from everyone from French President Sarkozy to Los Angeles Councilman Tom LeBonge. I've recorded 6 children's CD's and recently directed and arranged background vocals for renown French singer and actress Charlotte Gainsbourg. In my private practice I have prepared and developed singers for live performance, personal development and for the rigors of the auditioning process. And we always have fun!!

*** Lesson Details ***
Learn to play the voice! I have developed my own special brand of singing lessons using breathing and placement techniques to provide the tools you need to develop as a vocalist and help you make the choices of an artist. How do you want to tell your story? My lessons will help you build confidence and every lesson will bring you a new piece of understanding and practical know-how. You will work hard, play hard, build a repertoire, and make tangible improvements in every single lesson! Success breeds success. If you want to audition for The Voice or simply enjoy the applause at karaoke night, I can bring you closer to your goal. I can also include beginning piano which can only add to your skills including an understanding of music vocabulary and the basic mechanics of music theory.

*** Studio Equipment ***
Music Room, and recording studio, piano, guitars, computer and cd, ipod docs. Parents are welcome to stay for lessons or run to close-by Starbucks, Costco or Home Depot!

*** Travel Equipment ***
I use a piano to teach both voice and beginning piano.

*** Specialties ***
I use solfege, breathing and placement techniques filtered through an emphasis on real world performance skills. Helping the student build confidence is probably one of the teachers' most important roles. Creating a safe environment is key to keeping the lesson fun, productive and challenging. Every single student should leave every single lesson with a tangible feeling of progress.

I've had a few singing teachers before and let me just say it was always mediocre. It was all fundamentals and straight to techniques. With toni it was so much fun and very simple. She makes sure that I don't feel like I'm being tested or points out my flaws but rather my strength which makes me feel even more motivated to sing. She's an amazing instructor I recommend her to anyone who wants to have fun learning rather than feeling like they're in a class. She's passionate, kind and she is an amazing teacher. Take her

Very impressed so far. Toni didn't let on that the exercise was difficult until after. So my daughter flew through the lesson without fear because she's just doing what she loves and not thinking of struggle. Toni has the depth and breadth of musical knowledge but makes it fun and easy breezy. Everything out of her mouth has been exactly what I hoped to hear whether I realized it or not. I'm so grateful to have found her and I hope we can work together for a long time to come

About Emily
I provide a fun, supportive and creative environment for my students, exploring music with enthusiasm and finding new ways of approaching the voice to facilitate a healthy technique.

I teach students of all ages and levels, and all musical genres. I believe that in order to sing any kind of repertoire (whether it be rock or opera), you first need to understand and work on the fundamental principles of singing; body alignment, breath support and a clear, resonant tone.

Originally from Gainesville, Florida, I started studying piano at the age of 6 and then started voice lessons around the age of 8. I started mainly with musical theater and pop music, and it wasn't until high school that I left Gainesville to pursue a more rigorous arts education at Interlochen Arts Academy. There, I discovered my love for opera and classical musi
c, and then went on to receive my Bachelor of Music from Oberlin Conservatory, and my Master of Music from San Francisco Conservatory. I am currently working on my Doctorate in Music at the University of Southern California.

Studying and performing music has been such an integral part of my life, and I have a lot of enthusiasm and energy to teach aspiring musicians!

I started taking piano lessons from Emily in January without any prior knowledge of how to read music or piano. I am surprised at how far I have come in such a short time and I credit much of this to Emily's teaching style. She's able to build upon previous lessons and go at a pace that feels comfortable but still packs a lot of material in each lesson. She is so friendly, enthusiastic and has a wonderful ability to put you at ease. I find this very important when learning a new skill (especially, learning a new skill as an adult!)

Hey there! My name is Jake, and I'm a lifetime musician. I began playing guitar and taking lessons 18 years ago (at age 8), and writing songs at 5!... my grandma recalls asking me to play "number 5" on the piano, and I'd do as I was asked, right from memory. Guitar, songwriting, and singing have long been my deepest passions, and having the opportunity to help others explore their own creative abilities has always made me feel whole. My style as an artist is especially in line with the Jason Mrazs, Colbie Cailats, and Ed Sheerans of the world, while as a writer I lean towards the styles of Scott Harris and Geoff Warburton (Shawn Mendes). Looking forward to working with creatives and musicians of all types!

I have over ten years of stage and screen acting experience. Not only do I have BFA in Acting from Oklahoma City University, but I also studied at The Atlantic Theater Company and New York University. Unlike a lot of other acting teachers, I am also a writer. I have written and directed a feature film, a webseries, and authored two produced plays (and one musical!). I truly know the business inside and out.

My second career as a writer lends me a unique perspective in developing a performance: I understand the writing process. When it comes to script analysis, we can work smart, not hard. By asking a few simple questions about what the writer's intentions were when crafting a character and a scene, we can lay down a baseline and discover moments from there. I don't believe you need pages and pages of script analysis to make a performa
nce great, just a curious and open mind.

I'd love to help you refine your material, whether it be for an audition or just to hone your craft. If you're in need of a college audition coach, I am very well-versed in that area. I know how hard and confusing it can be, and I'm here to help! I mostly work with kids and teens, but if you're an adult who is just starting out, that's great too! Come one, come all.

I love to work in a relaxed environment with no pressure. Acting can sometimes get intense, but I always reign it in so nothing gets out of control. I believe that people do their best work when they're comfortable, open, and not scared of judgement. I assure you that I can provide an environment that will foster all of those elements.

Feel free to send me a message and ask me any questions you may have!
