Hi my name is Juran Ratchford, I am a native of Shelby, North Carolina has been playing the saxophone since the of age twelve. I attended Winston Salem State University. There, I marched in the Red Sea of Sound Marching Band,where I became a proud member of the prestigious Kappa Kappa Psi National Honorary Band Fraternity, Incorporated.Soon after graduating I decided to pursue his dream of becoming a professional musicain. I have performed and recorded with several artists and actors, such as Grammy Award winning producer 9th Wonder, Musical Director for Grammy Award winning artis artist Rapsody, Kelly Price, India Shawn, actress Lynn Whitfield, and national recording artist and saxophonist for Stevie Wonder, Ryan Kilgore. Some of the stages that I have perfomred on include; BET’s 106 & Park, SXSW Music Festival,One Music Festival, Durham Performing Arts Center , NPR’s “Tiny Desk Concert” Series, and The Art of Cool Music Festival located in Durham, NC.
