Hi there! Let me tell you about what makes me a unique teacher, as well as my qualifications.
I started learning piano as an adult, all on my own! I know the struggle all too well. I was very ambitious, and truly inspired by the piano music of Chopin that I heard one day. I have always loved music and played a little guitar and piano. I only played classical music for 1 year, when I attended private Middle School in Russia. Well, I went all in, and started learning Chopin's Ballade no.1. I practiced many hours and had a horrible time. I made great progress, considering that I was learning an advanced piece, all on my own. Yet, when I got a teacher, my playing started improving exponentially.
My teachers introduced me to new ways of learning music, as well as how to practice efficiently while improving technique. They set the bar higher for me. They showed me new repertoire and composers that I had never even dreamt of knowing about.
A teacher will guide you through this journey you began. They will enrich your life with knowledge. I would love to share my knowledge with you.
I have studied with private teachers in Austin, Texas. I studied with a teacher from the St. Petersburg Conservatory of Music. I studied with a student of Heinrich Neuhaus himself. (His student was an elderly piano professor, teaching at the Rastropovich Conservatory in Orenburg, Russia.) I am currently completing my Music Degree in Piano Performance, despite my late start and countless challenges!
