Become a Great Musician: friendly teacher with degree in music and great with kids.
I’ve been playing the piano for 16 years, and have about two years’ piano teaching experience. I’ve also studied french horn and vocal technique along with music theory, aural skills, and other musical topics at the collegiate level.
As a teacher, my strengths are in working with beginners. I find it easy to guide new musicians in understanding new concepts and building them up from the basics. I’m a people person, so I'm great at working with young children as well as older kids and adults.
I also teach PIANO/VOICE COMBO LESSONS! Let me know your preference.
I believe that piano lessons aren’t just about learning to play the piano – it’s about becoming a musician, someone who can express themselves through music. When I was a young pianist, I thought that taking lessons meant I’d be able to see music on the page and play it on the keyboard, but now I know that making music is so much more than that. My students will not only learn to read and play, they will also receive foundational instruction in music theory, aural perception, improvisation, and composition from the very beginning because these are the tools musicians use to communicate feelings and ideas in their music. With this kind of instruction, students also more quickly gain a deep understanding of how music works and become self-sufficient musicians.
