I am a UNC School of the Arts graduate with over 10 years of teaching experience, and additional studies in music composition at The Royal Conservatoire of The Hague, Netherlands. I am currently also on the teaching faculty at the Community Music School of UNC School of the Arts. A major focus of my lessons is to help the student understand how to think musically and to express convincingly the meaning of the music, no matter how simple or complex, through proper technique. I always lead the student towards a sense of being able to 'speak' the music through the sense of touch. I also integrate the study of music theory into lessons as needed.
