Trombone with Joshua M.

Hi, My name is Josh Mariani and I am a professional trombonist with Navy Band Northeast stationed in Newport RI. At Navy Band Northeast I perform with the brass quintet, concert/ceremonial band, and the pops ensemble. Before this I was in the Marines as trombonist as well. I have performed in hundreds of special occasions for the military and open concerts for the public. This includes everything from playing in a big band, concert band, wind ensemble, brasss ensemble, brass quintet, brass band, orchestra, as well as solo work. In 2008 I started my first semester at VanderCook College of Music where I attended for four years. After that I spent four years in the Marines before deciding to transition to the Navy. I've been performing and teaching privately for over 10 years now and love every second of it. When teaching I do focus quite a bit a technique. Once you have the technique everything else will follow. Making music can be and often is the most fulfilling thing in my life and want to share that passion with others and teach them how they can do the same. I have had several students go on to pursue music in college as well. I know what it takes to make a great musician and would love to help you get to where you want to be. I do have a lot of performance experience I believe I can teach anyone who is willing to learn how to be a great musician. I teach all ages, beginner to advanced.
