My name is Josh and I have considerable experience teaching students of all ages. I worked as a substitute teacher in the Los Angeles Unified School District for four years. I taught middle and high school students in classes that included special education, Spanish, English, science, math, and social science (history). Afterwards, I earned my M.A. and Ph.D. in music at the University of California, Riverside. I currently work as an adjunct professor at Chapman University in Orange, California. My goal is to facilitate the learning process by presenting materials in a manner that is both easily understandable and enjoyable. For my guitar students, I aim to foster musical and personal growth by introducing students to artists, genres and cultures that are new to them.
