About Joseph W.
I have played mandolin professionally since 1999 and have performed with national musicians touring groups for 20 years. as listed below, I have been in a band for the duration of the 20 years. I have learned to play the mandolin by ear. I specialize in in the Bill Monroe traditional bluegrass style of Mandolin. However, my interest in the area of Mandolin spans many genres of music. My band plays anything from gospel to bluegrass to country to rock. These interests have helped me to become a very versatile player. I have done performances with Michael Martin Murphey, Don Edwards, and Jimmy Ibbottson from the Nitty Gritty Dirt Band.
I do appointments on Saturdays by special appointment only. Please reach out to me if you are needing lessons on a Saturday.

My dad started this band when I was about 8 years old. I am in the band with my two older brothers. We play a variety of music that includes country, bluegrass, rock, and gospel. I have learned to blend the mando into pretty much any style.
