    Jose holds a B.M. and M.M. from the San Francisco Conservatory of Music, where he studied with David Tanenbaum. He has been a Faculty member of the School of Arts at the University (UABC) in Ensenada, B.C. and teaches privately in San Diego. Along his solo recitals, Jose performs frequently with violinist Thomas Yee as Duo Revirado. In August 1998, he won third place in Mexico's Concurso Nacional de Guitarra, which was held in Paracho, Michoacan. In 2005, he won the biannual Guitar Concerto Competition held at the San Francisco Conservatory of Music.     Jose Rodriguez is a great guitar player and teacher. He knows how to help solve technical problems, to understand and project the music. Plus it is patient and knows how to motivate you. With him I learned to enjoy more of the guitar.

    Jose Rodriguez is one of the best teacher i ever had, in class he know how to explain a problem, and how to resolve it. great person and over all, a great guitarrist.
