Joo Yon Chung (Joo) is a vigorous performer in solo repertoire and orchestral music recently finished her Artist Diploma in flute performance at the University of Illinois, Urbana-Champaign. She has most recently won the Third Place in the Orchestral Audition and Masterclass at The 2019 National Flute Association in Salt Lake City, Utah that is the largest annual professional gathering for flutists in the world. Also, she is appointed as the associate member in Civic Orchestra of Chicago for 2019-2020. Joo has played with Urbana-Champaign Symphony Orchestra until her recent move to Dallas, TX in summer 2019.
Joo earned her Bachelor of Music degree from the University of Cincinnati, College-Conservatory of Music with Magna Cum Laude. She received her Master of Music degree from the University of Texas at Austin. Her last study was at University of Illinois, Urbana-Champaign where she received her Artist Diploma.
