Study with a vocal coach who understands the joy of singing!

A well-designed practice strategy will result in engaging, high-efficiency practice that is both fun and challenging! Using proven strategies for the voice to build solid technique, you will be able to apply your voice to any style you choose. I combine techniques borrowed from the Bel Canto masters with a unique process of inspirational and imaginative development which results in a strong, natural, expressive voice.

With over 20 years of experience teaching voice and piano students of all levels, I have: - Developed techniques for developing the fundamentals of practice - Helped students win auditions at the state, regional, and national levels - And gained the perspective that great vocal success comes with great fun I serve on the board of the South Carolina chapter of the National Association of Teachers of Singing, and teach at both Clemson University and Anderson University. In addition to holding a Bachelor of Arts and a Masters in voice performance, I have performed performed in music theatre productions, operas, oratorios, and concerts. I have taught bands and choirs on multiple levels for 12 years. Training like an athlete in the fundamentals as well as implementing practices that foster the creative flow in performance are the two foundational pillars of growth I emphasize. Currently I am giving seminars online and locally on the topic Practice Like a Legend.

Loved Jonathan's pacing with my 10 year old son - just enough for lesson 1 - and his emphasis on proper technique. It's his focus on fundamental skills that's going to make all the difference.
