Since early childhood, I have shown great interest in anything music related. I have played piano since age four and have continued playing numerous instruments throughout my career. Currently, I can play approximately fourteen musical instruments, four of which I have played the longest and have pursued professionally. I have had a rich musical education since childhood. I took private piano lessons since the age of five through senior year of college and I also have had guitar, voice and percussion lessons given to me by educators throughout my career.
In elementary school, I began playing percussion and continued to do so throughout High School. It was also during my High School years that I picked up Guitar and Voice. I attended Cherry Creek High School for three years and was a prominent member of both top ensembles, the CCHS Wind Ensemble and the elite honor choir, the CCHS Meistersingers.
I continued my education further by attending the University of Northern Colorado for four years and while there studied private piano as a Piano Major, as well as taking part in two top choral ensembles, the Concert Choir and Men's Glee Club. While fulfilling my music credit classes, I learned the basics for an additional ten instruments included in the brass, woodwind and string families. During my Senior Year at UNC I also completed a mandatory Senior Recital for Piano. I graduated in December of 2009 and since then have held a teaching license as well as a Bachelor's Degree in Music Education, with an emphasis for Vocal, Piano and General Music.
Since college, I have been doing my best to stay active in the music education system. Just recently, I finished three long term substitute teaching assignments in Douglas County School District, the first and third at Trailblazer Elementary School, where I taught General Music every day to Kindergartners through sixth graders and the second at Mountain Ridge Middle School, where I directed and conducted the 7th/8th grade Winter Choir Concert.
Music is my Passion; it has been a part of my life since early childhood. To this day I still love to play piano professionally and I strive to make myself a better musician every chance I get.
I taught three long term placements in Douglas County school district, two out of three working with K-6 Elementary students, and the second working at a Middle School with 7th and 8th grades.
Jon was willing to help my daughter play the piano. He help her from not liking piano to loving it. Jon was the best instructor ever.
Mr. Fisher was patient and personable with my young grandchildren for their first lesson on the bells. He gave them clear instruction on how to play, and helped them with basic playing skills. Lots to practice for next week.
He was very accommodating and flexible with schedule. Recommend!
Jon was excellent.
My 10-year old daughters first singing lesson went very well. Jon communicated with her at just the right level and she was quickly comfortable and focused on the lesson. She tells me she enjoyed it and is eager for the next one.
Jon is energetic and engaging. For her first lesson, my daughter is responding very nicely to his teaching methods. Looking forward to many more lessons in the near future. Thanks Jon!
