Tuba with John F.

Hi. I'm a classical and jazz tuba player in the Altanta metropolitan area. I studied music at Ithaca College and Southern Methodist University with Dave Unland and Everett Gilmore. I currently play all genres of music and have been involved with street bands. I think of the tuba as a flexible voice in ensembles. It can be the lead melody, it can provide the bass line and chordal structure, and it can hang in a horn section. My lessons are focused on teaching students the music THEY want to learn. Studying music that is relevant to what you feel and love is the most important part of progress (along with practicing!). I have taught cooking in addition to music over the years and enjoy working with students to help them gain the skills they need to enjoy their music. Cheers!
