I am an educator and teacher, dedicated to helping students succeed through quality planning, curriculum, student interaction and parent communication. I have taught piano and voice for over 15 years and have worked as a solo performer and accompanist. My goal is to help students to enjoy what they are learning and to advance in their technique and performance. I take each lesson as a unique approach because each person is unique. I will always include some classical conditioning to get the basics down, but then adjust according to the student. Music should be fun and exciting.

I rehearsed with all said groups and also assisted in sectionals and one-on-one work. I performed in concert, making sure to follow the conductor or soloist in all selected music pieces while helping to emphasize the group or individuals' sound.+ Read More
I taught piano lessons for local students in La Junta, CO. Most of my students were beginner elementary students. I taught Thompson method and Schaum for beginners. Lessons included foundational study in note reading, rhythm, sight reading, and pedagogy.
I am officially certified to teach secondary instruction in the state of Colorado. My licensure is in English Language Arts, but I will also be adding music soon.
This is a Yoga Alliance approved affiliation. I am able to teach any class and/or person.
The TEFL certification provides me with the ability to work with anyone wishing to learn English who currently doesn't speak it fluently.
Johanna is patient and kind. My daughter truly enjoyed her and is excited for more lessons!
