I teach Jazz Piano and improvisation. I will help you develop a melodic and harmonic vocabulary. We will work on Voicings, licks, and tunes. ( Bebop, Blues, Standards, Chords, etc. ) We will start from where your skill level is. You will learn how to learn jazz and we will get you up and playing something fun real quick !

I teach Jazz Piano and improvisation. I have been a professional piano player for 40 years. I have released 7 jazz CDs. As a composer my tunes have been heard on 100’s of TV shows and movies including “Saturday Night Live”, “The Voice”, "Empire",“Parenthood” , “The Mentalist”, “Pawn Stars” ,  “The Big Wedding”, “Say Yes to the Dress”, and many more.

I was actually searching for a gig or a band to play with when I ran across Jim's post offering jazz piano lessons.  I have been playing piano for many years, but thought to myself, " I wonder if this guy can teach an old dog some new tricks?"
Well, I can't begin to express how glad I am that I gave it a try.  I have been taking weekly lessons for several months now and I am extremely happy with all the new things I am learning.  He is an excellent instructor, and a very kind person to know.  I wish I could have taken lessons from Jim when I was a beginner!  I highly recommend Jim Pearce if you are looking to learn to, or improve on playing piano.
