Opera Voice with Jesus M.

Hello, My name is Jesus M. I am an operatic Bass-Baritone, and after teaching for over a decade I have come to learn that there is not a one-size-fits all method in the learning and teaching singing. Flexibility, comfortably, and enjoyability are the the three main pillars of my studio; and when supported by these, we are able to create a learning environment that allows for every lesson to not only be productive, but endlessly enjoyable. With this said, it is my goal to custom tailor my approach to each student based on their technical proficiency, natural ability, and personal goals. For beginning students, we will approach the fundamental techniques of singing (legato, onsets, breath support) through the through the lens of Italian Art Song, English/American Art Song, Golden-Age Musical Theater, and Vaccai exercises. For upper-level students, we will study German/French Art Song, in addition to arias by Mozart, Handel, and Rossini, Donizetti, Gilbert & Sullivan, Bach, and many others. I have sung professionally since 2010 when I made my professional debut at the age of 18. I received my Bachelor of Music: Vocal Performance from The University of Michigan, and my Master of Music: Opera and Voice Performance from McGill University, in Montreal Canada. Among my professional experiences, I have had the honor of performing at some of the greatest opera companies in North America, including The Metropolitan Opera, Santa Fe Opera, Opera Theater of Saint Louis, Detroit Opera, Opera Baltimore, Utah Opera and many more. So, with an arsenal of academic and real world experience at my disposal, let's get together and create a game plan to cultivate your voice into the best instrument it can be!!!
