Hi! I'm Jesse. I've been playing guitar (mostly classical) for more than a decade. I fell in love with the instrument when I was 12 years old and have played it non-stop ever since. In high school, I won a number of jazz competitions as a member of the Garfield High School Jazz Ensemble. I also played classical, blues, and rock in my spare time.
I recently graduated from Pomona College, where I majored in music with a focus on guitar performance. I graduated with a B.A. in music after a very successful senior recital.
If you're a guitar player of any level, from beginner to advanced, I can help you develop your skills and become a better musician. Whether you're a beginner who's just picking up a guitar for the first time, an intermediate student who's looking to hone their technique and expand their repertoire, or an advanced player who wants to learn how to push their playing to the next level, I can help you achieve your goals.
Fantastic, clear instructor!
I've never really played music before, but I've always liked listening. The classical stuff can seem a bit hard to approach.
But Jesse really took the time to show me that anyone can play, provided they practice, and that with a little help growth can happen fairly quickly. He also told me that learning the practical skills of classical guitar could really help me expand outward into the rest of music genre.
He's a cool guy. It was nice that he came to my place so I didn't have to go through the hassle of finding him. He also played a bit of this piece called Chaconne by Bach, a bit complex for me but really showed how exciting classical guitar can be.
