As a Musicians Institute graduate, I've learned from exceptional drummers in the Los Angeles music industry. I gained and learned many tricks of the trade and can offer the same quality education to anyone. As a student myself, I realized that having great sound, solid timing and groove are just as essential as having cool beats to play. There are more technicalities to drumming than being able to play fast or having the best chops.
Aside from learning how to play drums, knowing how to think about music, how to listen to music, and how to study music will give a great foundation to any student of any style.
I first like to determine the students ability and understanding by working on a few coordination exercises and reading exercises.
From a good foundation, I build a curriculum, and deter any obstacles by constantly changing my approach to benefit the student playing.
Currently play percussion, congas and bongos, during the main worship service and play drum set for the closing song.
Other responsibilities are to learn the set list for the week and be prepared for the absence of any drummer at any of the 3 locations.
In between each gig has always been smaller gigs. The goal isn't always to be in one band for a long stretch of time, but to be in many that help learn more and push personal limits to the next max. Always keeping busy is great. And the list of small bands continues. Too many to name each one.+ Read More
Jake Bush Band is an Houston cover band that caters to Houstonian locals that love good country music.
Part of my aspirations are to reach out and help as many people as possible.
This part of my aspirations allow me to help bands come up with business plans. I consult and explain how to create a following, when to record, how to generate funds for merchandise. And, I teach every member of bands I consult with on a private level. This includes how to play to a click, how to improve sound, and music performance.
Lastly, every good band needs assistance with public relations. With my business background, I share important details on how to negotiate, schedule, and win people over.
I currently play with a local band that needed a replacement drummer. Through referrals and strong relationships, I was called to meet the needs of a strict timeline. With only 3 rehearsals, we managed to play an amazing show, and will continue to play locally.+ Read More
Drummer for Church band
For a short period of time, I was Music Director of this small facility. I taught the band how to communicate as well as effective ways of rehearsal.
The main objective was to get the stage in order, and the musicians sharp. Mission accomplished.
Played as a drummer for hire for this artist from Mexico. The gig required me to learn his album in 4 days before the performances. We played at 3 different venues. With a total of 5 performances. This was fun as I didn't know any of the musicians playing for this band.+ Read More
Fred Dinkins has played for The Emotions, Denise Williams and many more.
Delta blues band for hire that gigged and played festivals. Our First performance was 20 songs, learned the night before the gig with only 4 hours practice.
This sort of thing takes tons of theory to understand basic song writing structure. This allowed me to learn the song effectively while adding my own brand to the mix. We also played Irish folk music at various venues and festivals.
Drum teched for Glen Sobel, He has played for Steve Luither, Alice Cooper, Jennifer Baten. and many more.
Atma Sutra means the way of the soul. It was an progressive jazz rock fusion band, with a singer song writer foundation. The music was similar to Sting, with Eddie Veder sounding vocals. The drums were very dynamic as far as combining fusion jazz and rock together. Think elevator music with 80's metal guitar in the mix, along with current styles of jazz and rock!+ Read More

Honestly, best drummer ever. He likes to give you exercise that you are into and enjoy. He'll go out of his way to make sure you are getting the exercise perfect. Best drum teacher ever period.
Technique is paramount when learning to play drums, if you don't have a good, solid technique, your just another sloppy drummer. Enter Jeremiah, an instructor with an excellent ear, picking up quickly on what it is I'm doing wrong, establishing a path to quick correction and selecting a technique right for my style of play. 3 lessons in and my playing is dramatically different, much cleaner and solid on the grooves. This guy has pushed my creativity to a new level and my confidence in live play stacks up to the crowd
My 10 year old is excited about learning to read music. Jeremiah is doing a great job. Jeremiah has alot of talent and has been very patient with my son.
