I have been playing clarinet for 22 years, the first 7 of those as a student, the rest as a home teacher and spare band member at times, and always practicing and improving. My first band teacher told me that no matter how many years you play, you will never stop learning because there is no end to the music. I took that to heart and haven't stopped playing. I love music and the emotions it can provoke. It can set the stage or take you back in time or make you smile. Sometimes, it can even make you cry. It can be therapeutic and life changing. A beautiful solo to a sad sonata, an uplifting ballad to a calming concerto, music truly can change you.
