Classical Piano with Jennifer H.

Hi! I’ve been teaching for more than forty years and continue to enjoy watching my students having fun while they learn! I earned a PhD in Music Education in 2000, and have taught music at every level from 4 year olds to adults my age, public school, private school, university, elementary through high school choral and instrumental. My passion is grade school students because they are so much fun and spontaneous! I am always excited to teach private flute and piano lessons to all ages. I played in a professional touring group for 15 years that included flute, soprano saxophone, and pipe organ called the Trio Mariah. I’ve taught flute at the International Music Camp in the International Peace Garden as a teacher/performer for 30 years. I love theory, and enjoy explaining it in a way that makes sense and encourages retention, especially in piano lessons. I still play in a community band and enjoying playing piano for my own enjoyment. Most of my training is classical, but I love all genres of music. I am currently a music specialist in Arlington ISD, teaching grades K - 6. I look forward to hearing from you!
