I've taught singing to children, teens, and adults since 2006. My Masters degree training has afforded me the opportunity to be well versed in effective vocal techniques that will help you succeed. My main goal is to help you to develop your own set of tools, and better understand your unique voice as an artist. Make sure to wear clothing you can move in during our sessions, and, most importantly, explore and just have fun!

My background and career have never placed importance on speaking and looking objectively at myself, I wanted to improve that ability. Toya has been very patient and down to earth with me, as raw as I am, in helping me. After a few lessons I already feel confidence growing and enjoy her instruction.

About Carl

As far back as I can remember I have always enjoyed performing music. I can remember during my elementary school years how I would play drums during church service. Some days I would sneak in my dad's closet to play his saxophone. I began learning how to play saxophone in middle school and by the t

Carl is a wonderful instructor. I may get a little overzealous at times, but he’s always patient and he indulges my imagination of being Kenny Dee. :)

GREAT INSTRUCTOR!!! Carl is very patient when teaching technique. I liked the approach he'd take to help me understand fingering and learning theory behind what I was doing. Just unfortunate covid 19 came and disrupted my in-home teachings.....I'd recommend him to anybody looking for an good instructor.

Your passion for music will only increase as you improve your voice with lessons. I focus a great deal on having a firm foundation of good vocal technique, and am passionate about students being able to sing in styles that they love. No matter if you are just starting to sing or if you are already very experienced, lessons with me will be both informative and tons of fun!

After just my first lesson I have already learned things (warm ups, proper stance, proper breathing, etc.) that will better my singing and will be an integral part of how I execute during performances. I look forward to learning much more and definitely recommend Jacki as a voice instructor for any and all.

She is a great teacher. I love how she’s open to anything, and how she teaches really helps in the long run. She helps you understand certain things, and even if your not experienced in music, she makes it easy to understand those things.

Mrs. Miller was so awesome to work with, and I see my time with her as pivotal to where I am now. I worked on a range or music from pop, to classical, to Musical Theatre, while I was with her and enjoyed every second. Not only did she work on my singing and vocal technique, but she work on performing as well, we work on the portrayal of emotion and character and how to bring it all together in the best way for the audience. One of my favourite things about Mrs. Miller is that she absolutely knew what she was talking about and if she ever encounter something she didn't know, she made it her mission to figure it out whether is was how to play the piano part in the music or the pronunciation of a foreign language I was singing in. Another awesome word I'd use to characterise Mrs. Miller is efficient, she understands that time in lessons is limited and remains focused on the task at hand while knowing that stopping at some point may be necessary for growth and to fix problems. Overall I would say that Mrs. Miller is one of the finest voice instructors I've worked with!!

Hi! My teaching is inspired by my classical training, while incorporating work experiences in improvisation, jazz, and pop. I hope to help students engage with music and equip them with tools to be uniquely creative and expressive.

About Caleb

I am a Nashville based cellist from the San Francisco area. I first began playing the cello inspired by seeing OneRepublic's bass guitarist/cellist Brent Kutzle on TV. I have completed a degree in cello performance at UCLA while gaining working experience on collaborative projects in a variety o

I am 12 years old and have been playing cello for 6 years. Caleb was my instructor at the Mark O'Connor string camp. The week before our lesson, he recorded an accompaniment for a piece we would be working on, and it was great to get a head start and to be able to play with him. We worked on bluegrass practicing techniques and improvising with blues scales. It was some super cool music and thanks to Caleb, my playing is improving!
Yutae(Albert)
Being my very first cello instructor, Caleb not only taught me how to play, but gave me a desire. Usually, the first experience determines the outcome of what happens, for example, if you never enjoy an instrument, it is inevitable that you would drop it quite soon. However, Caleb found me real enthusiasm and motivation. Even though I am no longer his student, I always look forward to hearing any news about him, from a simple hello to him posting a new video of his performances. Without someone like him, I probably would have had given up cello after my first year. He is the most enjoyable and helpful instructor so far.

I feel like I learn something new each lesson about singing in general or about my voice specifically! I have been working with Mary Elizabeth for a little over 6 months now and have seen so many improvements in my singing technique! I have gained so much strength in my mix and now know more about placement for my voice! She has a bubbly personality and makes lessons very enjoyable!"

She's tailored everything to my skill level (I played piano as a child but forgot almost everything), and I'm learning theory and playing by ear. She's definitely an expert and I plan on working with her for a long time!"

"My son warmed up to him very quickly - it said true they say kids know it cause me being the mother I felt the compassion and warmth Gabe had and so did my little one. We have been taking classes With someone else prior where I had to drive and go and this has been so much easier for us busy moms who can stay at home and continue the work while our child is learning- Gabe is so patient and has this calm demeanor and that is so natural that kids pick up and feel comfortable- to teach kids you have to have a certain personality and Gabe sure does. I trust him so much and feel comfortable while he is teaching my son and I’m in the office downstairs- I immediately felt comfortable with him teaching my son and being in my home which is not easy to feel with just anyone- he truly cares and I have never seen him look at his watch just to get out but rather leaving the child with enough to learn and practice and that alone comes from his quality of care and compassion that he takes pride in to make sure these kids learn. I think my son learned much quicker then the previous teacher I took him too. He is made for this and I would

"Excellent teacher!

As I've worked with Ilona and gotten to know her as my teacher, I realize that she really truly cares that I learn well and learn the proper way. She can be tough and gives me a good amount of work to do, but it's all because she wants me to learn and learn well. If I'm unable to complete an assignment she just laughs and says "Life happens" - she's very understanding. She's very patient and encourages me all the time. I often will make a comment such as "I stink at this" and she'll tell me I'm too hard on myself and piano is a learning experience. Obviously teaching is her calling in life and she's excellent at it! I would recommend her to anyone who wants to learn the art of playing the piano."

7 Essential Ukulele Chords for Beginners

Ready to start learning to play ukulele? Check out these easy ukulele chords from music teacher Raymond L. and you'll be strumming a tune in no time!
