My name is Javier and I love to teach !

I am originally from Guanajuato, Mexico and in my last year of high school, I decided to take private piano lessons with a local teacher and it was during this time period that I learned classical pieces by Beethoven and Mozart. I also took music notation and I tried a hand at composing, discovering a new way to communicate in terms of music.

After moving to the USA, I resume my music education, learning new concepts on classical, blues and pop styles, as well as chord progression and accompaniment pieces. After a year and after completing the teacher training program, I started to teach piano from my home studio.

During this time, I took upon myself two more years of intense composition study and experimenting with some of the secrets of this art, which now has become one of my passion. In 2007 I earned a diploma from this institution and in the same year I released two CDs of my own compositions: Van Gogh Sunflower's and Dimes y Diretes.

This year I have enrolled in a music program at the Music Conservatory of San Francisco, where I am expecting to learn and expand my knowledge on technique, performing, and music ensembles.

For six years, I have been teaching successfully from my home studio, teaching students of all ages and with different music backgrounds.

*** Lesson Details ***
I teach piano and I specialize in classical and contemporary music styles

I am a strong believer of traditional teaching methods, however, I have learn that we all learn in different ways, so I let my students discover music by teaching them how to relate to the piano first, after they become familiar with the instrument by playing easy but wonderful melodies I start with the process of teaching music notation, scales, chords, analyzing songs, music history, exercises.

I teach all ages, I am very patient and supportive, never pushy but firm with my students goals.

· Piano · Fantastic Teacher

Javier is very knowledgeable, kind and patient teacher. I enjoy my lessons and improve weekly. A relaxed learning environment which I need due to being a over 60 year old student going through my bucket list and deciding this was finally MY time.

· Piano · Excellent Experience

Plannig to learn to play the piano was an intimidating feeling. From the begining Javier eased my anxiety. He is very flexible and adjust the lessons to my perofrmance. When I do well we speed on. If I struggle he slows down.

I am so glad I started and that he is my instructor. the experience is encouraging and will probably be the cause for me to continue on for awhile.

· · Excellent teacher and overall great experience

The lessons with Javier have been fantastic. He is very knowledgeable, encouraging, patient, and keen to my needs. He is always in a good mood and that makes for a lighthearted and fun environment which is easy to learn in. He is also very flexible which is great for someone like me who's schedule can change at any time. I would recommend Javier to anyone and I will continue my lessons with Javier for as long as I can afford them.

· · Excellent

He is patient and gives easy to follow lessons for my 4-year old. He knows how to balance pushing a new learning lesson with some fun and games. My daughter is always please when I tell her it's her day to have a lesson.

Javier is an excellent teacher. His warm personality and ability to teach makes the lessons that much better. His way of teaching makes things easy to learn and leaves me excited for the next lesson. In just four short lessons, I was able to read enough notes to have played my first short piece. In a nutshell, Javier is awesome!
