I'm a music producer, mix engineer and songwriter who has worked with a wide range of artists, both Independent and well-known over the last ten years. I graduated from Berklee College of Music in 2009 and immediately moved to Nashville to work for Blackbird Studios. During my time there, I was able to work next to some of the greatest minds in the Nashville music scene and really start to find my sound. From there, I left for Los Angeles in 2013 to work for Universal Music Group's Interscope Records. Again, spending countless hours in their recording studios producing, mixing and assisting on sessions with major label Pop and Hip Hop artists. I began teaching Piano lessons and Production lessons privately in 2014 and have loved every second of it. I currently have around 12 students ranging in ability from beginner to professional that I see on a regular basis both in-person and online. My studio experience and versatility coupled with my classical foundation helps me keep every lesson stress-free, simple and fun. I teach clients in both Piano and Production online, or in my super cozy home studio in Nashville. I'm also happy to come to you if you're local. I work with artists, producers, engineers, composers, and piano/keyboard players in a wide age range, varying skill levels and with many different musical goals. Some topics I generally cover are - Songwriting, Chord Progressions, Harmony, Lyric Writing, Melody Writing, Microphone Techniques, Fundamentals of Recording, Using a Digital Audio Workstation, Compression, EQ, Mixing, Mastering.

Jason is an INCREDIBLE teacher and mentor! Every time we work together I get so many "a-ha" moments where it all just clicks. Not only is he a master at his craft, but he also has the ability to break it down in a digestible way and make it really clear and easy to understand. I can honestly say I've seen a HUGE improvement in my production/mixes since we started working together!

Jason is hands down the best producer I've ever worked with. He spent countless hours helping me perfect my record and showing me how to achieve certain sounds that I couldn't have otherwise done on my own. He's respectful, patient, understanding, and most importantly super talented at what he does. Anyone would be lucky to learn from him, I know I was!

    Music Producer/Mix Engineer

    Sep, 2014 - Present

    Jason Haag Music

I have been a freelance producer and audio engineer working for both Independent and Well-Known bands and artists from around the country for the last 5 years.

    Assistant Engineer/Producer

    Jan, 2012 - Apr, 2016

    Interscope Records

Responsible for setup, teardown and execution of recording sessions across six fully functioning studios as per each engineer’s specifications. Operated Pro-Tools for the duration of the session and constantly ensured backups and stems were organized and delivered properly. Created rough mixes (5.1 / 2.0) and delivered final files to clients and editors as instructed. Oversaw all equipment use and ensured all session logs and recall sheets were properly completed and filed.

    Assistant Engineer/Producer

    Jan, 2010 - Jan, 2012

    Blackbird Studios

Initially hired as an Intern under George Massenburg working out of Blackbird Studios. Managed all setup, teardown, and session notes/documentation for private clients. Was quickly offered a permanent position for the main studio and continued to develop tracking and mixing skillsets under some of Nashville’s highest rated engineers. Handled all client relations and maintained an exceptional track record.
