It all started one Sunday during church, when I was given my first chance to play drums for ONE song. My palms were sweaty, and my nine-year-old legs could barely reach the kick and hi-hat pedals. After that one song (I believe it was “Open the Eyes of My Heart”), I was hooked, and all I wanted to do was play drums! Since then, I’ve graduated with my B.A. in Commercial Music from Trevecca Nazarene University. I’ve also gained over fourteen years of experience on the drum set performing, studying, teaching and recording multiple styles of music such as pop, jazz, rock, country, and praise & worship. In 2015, I was a semi-finalist in the nation-wide Guitar Center Drum Off competition, beating out hundreds of other contestants. Over the years I’ve had the privilege to be featured in music videos as well as leading worship at numerous churches and youth conferences across the U.S. I currently live in Plano, TX and am happily married to my bride, Anna.

Jared is an amazing teacher. He is patient, he is encouraging and he has some mad skills. He makes my son excited about drums, and if you ever get a chance to see him perform, you will see his passion for drums and awesome talent.

Jared is a fantastic teacher and has a gift for making you feel encouraged yet showing you how to improve at the same time. The drum lesson I took was probably the best musical lesson I have ever taken.

Music instructor for the Praise Band program at Lucas Christian Academy. In August 2018, I moved from being an instructor to being the department head. In this role, I work with middle school and high school students & I help teach multiple instruments including drums, bass, guitar, & piano.
