Hello and welcome to my teaching world! I love teaching piano, as it has always been my strongest instrument. I start students as young as six or seven.

Most of my students are, or become honor (AP) students. Learning music is especially helpful in learning math as music and math are based on patterns. Engineers and musicians have the same thing in common: they learn to recognize patterns easily.

For young beginners, I use Alfred's Beginner course. For students 9+ years of age, I use John Thompson's Modern or Adult course(s) - students will get quicker results - with emphasis on classical technique after students become familiar with five-finger hand positions and basic dynamics.

Both courses utilize practice CDs or online apps that contain pre-recorded accompaniments, so students feel as though they are playing along in a band, or orchestra - this is EXCELLENT for learning rhythm.

If a student leans more toward accompanying themselves on piano while singing, I ...

About Susan B.

Hi there, thanks for taking a look at my profile. I have built my successful teaching business based on teaching children and adults alike, who love music. If you, or your young child is showing signs of high musical intelligence (sings a lot, keeps good rhythm, or is attracted to an instrument),

My daughter has been under the wonderful care of Ms. Taylor for over 2 years now and she has learned and grown tremendously under her care. From not knowing how to read notes or any finger placements, to reading notes and switching things up ( different tempos) while playing the piano on her own.

Ms. Taylor pays attention to detail and is very easy going that makes it easy for my daughter to learn. She is very compassionate. She has also taught her breathing techniques along with voice training. She keeps her grounded and motivated. My daughter has a passion for music and is in the best possible hands. She is very flexible and accommodating!

Thank you so much for everything you do to help her flourish!!

Ms T she are the greatest ever, she stick with what she are teaching you slow going but accurate, ooh yes she are a real teacher (the best yet)
Kirby M.
Susan is a excellent teacher, she has shown great patience and allows you to learn at your own pace. For an adult student with very little childhood training and having taken lessons once before as an adult she has done a masterful job learning what I want to learn and has been very open minded on which direction to go in as far as my lessons go. I am amazed that she has pulled some thoughts and ideas out of me that I didn't realize I had and has taught me patience in learning the piano.
If you are an adult student wanting to learn the piano or advance in piano Susan is the perfect teacher, she is flexible and takes the time to learn what your individual goals are in the piano. She has changed courses with my learning based on my interests, and for that I am thankful. If you are looking for a very talented music teacher (especially if you have done lessons before and have been thinking of giving it one last try) I would highly recommend Susan as the person to work with. 5 stars all the way!!

Great personality and knowledge of music, really makes the lessons very personalized, fun and interesting. Definitely a good choice!!
Perry takes the time to explain flamenco and related styles deeply and thoroughly. He also provides detailed micro-scale feedback on hand/arm placement, orientation, range and which muscle groups to engage. But more than the technical, he has an awesome vibe and makes learning guitar quite an enjoyable experience.

I like to teach with music, meaning we start by choosing the students favorite song and building slowly in level of difficulty. As they progress we play beats and learn fills. Later we get into reading and writing drum notes. Then we explore different genres, and styles of playing. This way the student can aim to play any song at-least 4-5 ways depending on what is required and what style and flavor they want to incorporate in their performance. For Advanced students we learn to jam with other instrumentalists, and write our own drum beats. Just like a pianist would learn to compose a melody, my drum students can learn to compose their own drum beats like all great drummers do. And finally the most advanced student can learn to manage the rhythm of a song, not only the drums but also the other instruments.
Any level of student can expect to learn the necessary rudiments, beats, fills to have a vast and deep repertoire. Also I strive to teach the art of freestyling which is the ...

About Shiv

I've been playing since I was 6 years old, so I understand the difficulty of learning drums, but it. doesn't have to be boring. I like to teach with the student's favorite songs, and break them down into simple levels. And as we learn new concepts we can play their song with a more complex rhythm,

Shiv is a great teacher, he is practical, uses songs to get you started and keep you interested in learning drums. He is young and has been learning music from very young age. It is relief for me when i go to drums classes as it clears my mind away from daily grind.
My son took drum lessons from Shiv for a short time. Shiv really connected with my son and sparked an interest by starting with my son’s favorite songs. We could not continue due to conflict of timings.
Shiv has been teaching our son since he was 6yrs old and although he’s young, he’s great with connecting with the students and explaining things to help you understand. My son really enjoys his lessons & we highly recommend Shiv. He has a passion for music & tracing and he’s really good at it.

Shubha was an excellent instructor. She is clearly well trained, and breaks everything down for any and all levels. She also makes every lesson fun with her sense of humor! Would definitely recommend to anyone and everyone.
Shubha is one of the best vocal coaches I’ve ever had. She’s kind and patient and she knows how to get results. Before taking lessons with her, I was auditioning for shows using songs that weren’t the right fit for my voice. She helped me master my audition and I got the role! I’m going to continue lessons with her and I highly recommend her!
I have been doing online vocal lessons with Shubha for a short time, and it was an amazing choice!! I love to sing, but I've never been super confident in it. She helps me learn vocal warm ups that have really allowed me to expand my range and feel like I have the confidence to actually perform live. The practice has been invaluable to me and really inspiring. She's given me that nudge to say yes to singing and feel like I can accept more gigs and feel ready to perform.

"Numan first of all is a great guitar player. He has studio experience, and has played professionally for years. He has taught me many great techniques in playing guitar. He has patience and is very clear and thorough when teaching and works at the students pace. In just a short while I was already learning some of my favorite songs, reading music, scales, music theory and writing my own tunes! I definitely recommend this teacher if you want to learn the guitar from top to bottom."

"Dave is the best teacher. Hands down!

After having some rough experiences with past teachers in my life, I came to Dave with a very specific goal in mind. To learn piano so I may graduate college. I had a lot to learn very quickly! I am an older student which made this task a bit intimidating. He is very patient and is able to explain things in a way I understand. He has a very light and nice personality which makes me want to focus and try hard. He definitely pushes me, but in a way that isn't scary.

Dave is the best. He is an incredible teacher and a really nice guy. His studio is really neat and professional which matches his personality. Take lessons with him. You'll be glad you did!"

"Josh is a great teacher! This is my very first approach to learning how to play an instrument and he goes over every concept very clearly and patiently. He also explains the technical background behind every concept and includes formal assignments for me to practice from one lesson to the other, which really helps optimize the time spent in the studio as well as speed up the learning curve. I would strongly recommend him to other students!"

"I feel Grant can be whatever you need! After the first lesson, I was confused with music theory and he made it clear by the second lesson. He is very concise with his words and I really appreciate it as some teachers can talk your whole session away. I also asked to work on strumming techniques and he was quick to come up with new ones for me as well as explaining how I can create my own. He's fantastic!"
