Lessons with me are centered on the student and the student's goals.  One adult beginner wanted to play one Frank Sinatra song for his wife on their anniversary; that was achieved!  Many others want to learn the classical repertory through Beethoven sonatas and Chopin waltzes and nocturnes.  I believe that lessons, and music learning in general should be informal and fun.
I also teach music theory, both as a vital part of keyboard study, and as a separate discipline.

As well as extensive experience teaching students at all levels and ages from 6 to (well) over 60, I have a background in music theater, church music,  film composition, choral conducting  and accompaniment.  I hold an MA in Music and Music Education from Columbia University's Teachers' College.
