My lessons take place at a working studio in Manhattans East Village, which has played host to many of the worlds greatest musicians (Blondie, Jay-Z, Gordon Raphael, Ryan Adams, Whitney Houston, Patti Smith, Lauren Hill, Macy Gray... and many others), and is equipped with a fantastic array of outboard hardware, microphones, instruments and software.

Starting as a session drummer at 17 has given me a huge amount of studio experience.
Playing in a range of styles and recording environments, as well as playing live on guitar and drums for many years.
I taught drums and guitar for 6 years in the UK prior to moving to NYC. I taught one to one, small groups and full classes in schools.
My relaxed and productive style, enabled me to teach classes that were fun and inspiring. As such I had a very high student retention rate.

My name is Juan I. I'm a guitarist, singer, song writer and performer and I have worked in recording sessions with Jamie as a producer in different musical projects since 2013. I can assure he is one of the best music producers in NYC. I have worked with different producers throughout my music career but I had never worked before with someone with so much knowledge in music engineering and at the same time with an outstanding musical ear.
He is also a very easy and outgoing person who has all the patience necessary to work and explain whatever needs to be explained in order to get the best recording.
I will continue working with him in future projects and I definitely recommend him to whoever wants to start a recording project or anybody who would like to learn about the professional process of recording in a studio.
Jamie's knowledge and experience were evident immediately. This might have been intimidating, except that he's also mightily approachable and genuine, breaking down information and relaying it in an accessible way. He was also 100% present during our time together. I highly recommend booking him. You won't regret it.+ Read More
