    I am a classically trained drummer with nearly 20 years of experience. I started playing drums in 1996 and it has been my passion ever since. I love to perform, practice, and teach. I started teaching in 2007 as a counselor at Day Jams Music Camp. It was then I discovered my love for teaching and seeing the next generation of musicians take shape. My specialties include the following: Classical and concert band and marching band as well as the following for the drum kit: Rock, Metal, Punk, Blues, and Pop. I also specialize in music theory and performance. Student expectations: I expect my students to be prepared for each meeting. I expect my students to practice the material we cover. I expect my students to provide their own equipment (drums, drumsticks, etc). I expect my students to have fun! Now, let's make some music!

    I am the drummer and one of the founding members of Chicago-based metal band, Apocrypha. In the 10 years we have been together, we have played over 120 shows, opened for 4 nationally touring bands, released 3 full length albums and 1 EP, and have sold merchandise in 10 countries.

    Day Jams Music Camp

    Teach drums and percussion as well as overseeing children, ages 8 to 15, for a popular music day camp. • Spend two hours of each day teaching drums and percussion in a group setting. • Lead a band of 5 to 9 children of varying instruments as well as instruct them on performance and teamwork. • Act as a third party mediator to settle disputes between band members. • Provide creative input to produce the best performance possible. • Work closely with the camp director to devise activities to keep students engaged in learning the art of music.
