Current: I currently give private flute lessons to middle and high schoolers in Texas. I am also a music student at the University of North Texas working to obtain a Masters of Music In Flute Performance. Qualifications: I am an American flute and piccolo performer/teacher who graduated with my Bachelors of Music from Texas A&M University-Corpus Christi with a specialization in Music Education. I also have a K-12 Texas teacher certification which was obtained after a rigorous yearlong teaching internship. My teaching experience includes being the flute studio instructor at the Long Lake Camp for the Performing Arts for the Summer of 2014 in Long Lake, NY. Performing: Not only am I a qualified teacher, but I am also an avid flute performer as the flute is my primary instrument. During high school, I performed in the Texas Music Educator’s Association 4A All-State Band. In college, I was selected to perform in the National Flute Association’s Collegiate Flute Choir at the national convention for three years in a row in 2014, 2015, and 2016; only 18 collegiate flute players were selected nationally for this honor each year. During the summer of 2016, I studied abroad in Vienna, Austria in the IES Summer Music History and Performance Program. Additionally, I was the winner of the 2015 Texas A&M University-Corpus Christi’s First Annual Concerto Competition in the Woodwind Category and have performed in masterclasses with Amy Porter, Leone Buyse, Ransom Wilson, and Marianne Gedigian. Lessons: Students benefit from well qualified teachers, and success in learning frequently depends on finding the right Flute Instructor; someone who knows the subject well and understand how to inspire others. Taking private flute lessons with me is a great way to improve your musical skills and bring you to new level of flute playing. One-on-one lessons will help you to become more successful and will be a great advantage because I will be able to create lessons plans specifically designed to fit your needs.
