I teach music lessons starting with and building upon basic techniques-including proper hand position, reading music, counting rhythms, maintaining a steady beat, and for wind instruments-proper breathing technique, embouchure, etc. I think it is important to establish these foundations and build upon them to keep music frustration-free and joyful. I enjoy playing along with and modeling the playing of my instrument so that students can hear and strive toward producing a good sound.
