Come learn with me! I’m going on 12 years as a 6th grade Band teacher. In that job, I teach all Band instruments in small groups and private instruction throughout the school day. I have experience teaching students with special needs. My main instrument is French Horn, which I play in a local professional concert band. Often in schools, teachers aren’t able to give each student the attention they need because they have so many students at once. In our lessons we will work on what you need! Maybe you struggle with reading music or keeping a steady beat. I have lots of games and activities to practice note names, fingerings, and learn rhythm. Maybe you are ahead of your class and want more challenge. Let’s work on it together! I have a Bachelors degree in Music Education from the University of Wisconsin- Madison along with a Masters in Curriculum and Instruction from National-Louis University. I have been teaching private lessons since 2002. When not teaching I am spending time with my two awesome young boys and my husband. We love to be outside playing sports and hiking as well as jamming to various music in our living room. I’m new to TakeLessons.com, but not new to teaching! Give me shout!
