My love and need for music began with my father’s record collection. Early memories of Ray Charles tunes and Beatles albums drew me to the piano at an early age. While in high school I got serious about the instrument and struck gold upon finding jazz greats like Bud Powell, Dexter Gordon, and my musical hero: Charlie Parker. As a teaching assistant in my own high school jazz band I immediately felt a deep connection with the learning process. After performing with the Emory University Big Band during my junior year of high school I was accepted to and attended the Georgia Governor's Honors Program where I sharpened my skills and further expanded my love for music and education.
In addition to teaching lessons I have since performed extensively both on stage and in the studio. Music has taught me self-discipline, dedication, gratitude, and most importantly patience. These are ideals I invest into everything I do and hope to share. I thank you in advance for your consideration.
