I'm a pianist, multi-instrumentalist and record producer with 20+ years experience on the piano and 10+ years experience as a guitarist, percussionist, singer, producer, and composer. I started my musical journey with classical piano, becoming proficient in performing the works of Debussy and Chopin. In 2012 I received a Bachelor of Arts in Music from The Evergreen State College, and have been working as a musician ever since! Since 2021 I've posted TikToks ranging from piano lessons, lessons on music theory, to analyses of why particular pieces of music are interesting. I am also the bandleader of The Carmelittles, a piano-centered rock, folk, and pop band based in Chicago. Under that name, I have self-produced, recorded, performed on, and mixed two albums, Wreath (2020) and Mr. Candle (2021). I am the ideal teacher for the beginning or intermediate student, of any age, who not only wants to learn the fundamentals of piano theory, performance and technique, but is also interested in producing their own music, learning about how music works, or learning other instruments. I have experience in nearly every musical genre, and every facet of music production (from classical composition, to hip-hop production, to mixing) and am happy to adapt my lessons to whatever your goals are!
