My goal as a teacher is to help my students achieve the goals they set for themselves. I love the science of singing and I believe it is essential to understand and know what your body is doing even before you open your mouth. I tend to start my students off with a simple vocal exercise which we use to discover the inner-workings of the voice and integrate new singing habits. I believe it is imperative to learn a new technique using a piece of music you will not sing in public. This way, your new singing habits can be transferred with ease to a piece you would like to perform. Because of this, it may take a few weeks before we start to work on a song of your choice. As I said before, I focus a lot on the science of singing. It is crucial that you are aware of what your body is doing and how to get of your own way. I believe that I am not here to change your voice or make you sound like someone, I am here to help you discover your own sound and to help you believe in that sound. *** Studio Equipment *** Lessons in the living room, Piano, music books. *** Travel Equipment *** I expect the student to provide a piano. *** Specialties *** I specialize in classical vocal music training.
