Gabriel "The Gun" Gonzalez co-found Orange Counties own No Doubt, and played in the group until 1992. He is a Cuban-American Trumpeter, Latin Percussionist, Producer and Arranger from Los Angeles and was instrumental in the development of the third wave Ska movement and the Orange County Sound. He has played and or worked with: No Doubt, The Skeletones, Bad Manners, The Red Hot Chili Peppers, Fishbone, Steel Pulse, The Roots Radics, Eddie Palmieri, Tito Puente (Sr & Jr), Lalo Rodriguez, Richie Ray, Sean "Puff Daddy" Combs, Mario Winans, Jeff Buckley, Bennie Maupin, Bob Mintzer, Peter White, David Sanborn and many other artists. He is a published writer with UMG, Interscope and Ras Records. His songs have been recorded and preformed by No Doubt and Sublime.
Gabriel has had the honor to have been taught by some of the greatest Trumpet players in the biz: James Linahon, Wayne Bergeron, Bobby Shew, Freddie Hubbard, Lew Soloff, Lee Thornburg, Arturo Sandoval and Dave Evans.
Gabriel's passion can be found in his music based nonprofit Ska For A Cause. SFAC is focused on educating and empowering children and young adults that are suffering from the traumas of bullying. It is his goal to eradicate the bullying epidemic by using music to spread the message of hope to those in need.
