I was interested in playing the guitar way back in 1964! Upon hearing the Beatles my dad bought me a Ukelele. The ukelele never got played but a friend gave me an old Sears Silvertone guitar when I was 11. Because I never took lessons I didn't know what a chord was. I finally started playing seriously in high school and formed a band. Upon graduating high school and after a year at the University of Connecticut, I attended the Hartford Conservatory where I received my associates degree in Jazz and Improvisation. I majored in guitar. I have studied with Tony Purrone, Dave Santoro. and Steve Famighlietti. I owned a music store from 1993 -2009. I have written and recorded songs that have received airplay in Connecticut and I have performed with Chris Tofield, Jimmy Griswold and Steve Peck. I have opened shows for Bo Bolero, Dicki Betts and Rick Derringer. I currently play mostly acoustic 12 string solo shows at restaurants and small clubs. I teach many styles of music from Rock to country, Blues and Jazz. If you have a child who you want to start on ukelele for their smaller hands, I can teach them too. Its really important to get a child the right sized instrument. This will keep their interest because there will be less of a chance to get frustrated.
