Learn Cello from an experienced orchestra musician
I am a cellist from Brazil and I have earned my undergraduate degree in Cello Performance from North Park University on a Full Scholarship and proceeded to obtain my Masters and am currently finishing my Performance Certificate, both on cello Performance from the DePaul University, also on a scholarship
Besides the experience I have teaching, I am often playing with orchestras throughout the Midwest and actively with chamber groups around town.
I started learning the cello at a very late age (music at 17 and cello at 18 y/o) in comparison to all of my peers. Therefore I deeply believe that anyone can become a high skilled musician by developing good habits which include having a smart use of time while practicing and a healthy approach towards playing the instrument in order to increase efficiency and avoid injuries, among other skills.

Francisco's musical career began at a school in Brazil that follows the internationally recognized "El Sistema"
Mr. M. was the first of very few to receive the Rita Simó Scholarship which covered all costs of his B.A. in Cello Performance and a certificate in Music for Social Changer. He then completed his M.M. and P.C. at DePaul University with a Performance Scholarship. During his studies in Chicago, Francisco was abele to study with members of the Chicago Symphony Orchestra (CSO) including its former Assistant Principal and current Principal Cello.
With over 10 years of experience teaching students for Chicago based "El Sistema" schools such as The People's Music School and on its after school programs through the Chicago Public Schools (CPS), Francisco has also taught at DePaul University's Community Music Division.
Francisco is currently a fellow with the Civic Orchestra of Chicago and performs with many other orchestras around the midwest.
Lessons are currently being taught in person or online.

Francisco is an amazing teacher! He is enthusiastic and always finds something encouraging to say. He has an impressive ability to make difficult things look easy. I wasn't sure about the online format, but Francisco makes it seem like you're right there in the studio. As an adult returning to playing after many years I especially appreciate his patience and positive attitude. I always look forward to my lesson and leave feeling inspired for the next challenge.
