My 11 yr. old son takes piano lessons with Ms. Rachel. Her lessons are engaging and productive. He enjoys the learning process and I am so happy to see him progressing so well. One of Rachel's main strengths is her ability to convey a given subject matter in a way that is meaningful, constructive and easily understood. Rachel's unparalleled enthusiasm for life and music shines through in her singing and teaching style. She shows a strong proficiency in many different styles. Corey was a great instructor for my 4th grader. We wanted him to keep up with his clarinet lessons over Summer break. My son gets very easily frustrated when he struggles and Corey handled it all very well, always giving a new suggestion on what he could do to improve. In just 5 short lessons, Corey helped my son with his embouchure, finger placement, tounging and my son was finally able to play his B and C notes. That had really been holding him back from playing lots of music. Highly recommended!

Mr. Ames is an amazing teacher! He helped me land a spot in the all district band my freshman year in high school and constantly pushed me to strive and be my best. I highly recommend him for anyone that is looking to have fun and be a better clarinet player.

Paul is an awesome guitar teacher and all around great guy. I clicked with him immediately. His knowledge of music is vast on pretty much any genre. He delivers instruction without any pretense in easy to understand digestible portions. For me, he promoted important fundamental learning principles but custom designed to my skill level and to help me fulfill my personal goals. I give Paul my highest recommendation. You will be glad you took lessons from Paul! I am.

Paul's great. He's been amazing about listen to me and what I want to learn. I'm actually more interested in music theory, and learning about bass than I am interest in becoming proficient at playing. It's obv that not only does Paul play both Bass and Guitar, but he understands theory and he can talk intelligently about different styles.

Overall a really nice upbeat guy too. I was hesitant b/c I didn't want a guitar teacher who also played bass. I wanted a bass teacher, Paul definitely is serious about Bass, and does NOT approach it the same way he does guitar

My approach to teaching involves developing a comprehensive understanding of what one is doing while playing, rather than just learning a couple of songs, or relying solely on your muscle memory, you will be able to explain what you are doing from a theoretical standpoint.

Without getting too heavy with the use of technical terms, I will teach you to see the underlying threads that apply to all styles of music and encourage you to begin making these types of connections yourself.
This is an important skill to develop early so that as you progress you can begin to teach yourself develop your own unique stylistic approaches to music!

After studying at Laguardia High school for the Performing Arts, I attended McGill University in Montreal where I earned my Bachelor's degree in Jazz Piano Performance.

If you study with me you will be able to expand your knowledge of:
-Music Theory
-Harmony
-Piano technique
-Ear Training
-Sight Reading
-Composition
-Improvisation

About Chris

Born and raised in downtown Manhattan, I have studied music for over 15 years now. When I was about 8 years old I started studying classical piano, and to be perfectly honest, it was like pulling teeth to get me to play. The repetitious nature of learning classical etude after etude wore down upon

Chris is a phenomenal piano instructor! He is extremely talented and can play different kinds of music- such an inspiration. He is very patient as my daughter and myself are beginners. He immediately picked up on what kind of music my daughter is into and has her play pieces that interests her and makes her happy (which also means she will practice more) I highly recommend Chris!

My 6 year old granddaughter has been taking piano lessons from Alexander K. since for about 4 months now. I chose Alexander as a result of the number of years he has been teaching piano lessons to young kids. He is doing a great job teaching her. He is very patience with her inquisitive mind and leads her at her pace. She likes his teaching skills and has learned a lot in this short time. I am very impressed with the progress she has made. I plan to continue the lessons for as long as possible. Thanks Alexander for the great job you are doing with my granddaughter!

"Kimberly is the best teacher I've ever had. Growing up in Barrington, we had a wide variety of private tutors and vocal trainers. My mother once put me up for private sessions for three months before my school musical. I thought I had received good training. Thought. My mother referred me to Kimberly after hearing her sing at a venue. I perused some of her videos and I must say that I was highly impressed. I signed up for a lesson, and my vocal range increased magnanimously! I am now able to sing in octaves in which I previously was unaware existed. My range is now more comfortable than my boat shoes whilst I cigar with the boys. I would recommend Kimberly to the highest degree possible and then some. If you don't know Kimberly, you are nowhere near your potential in vocals, guitar, or even life."
