Here is a little bit about my harmonica journey: When I was six years old, my dad bought two harmonicas; one for me and one for himself. It quickly became a beloved pastime of ours. We graduated from practicing in the kitchen to playing at church. I steadily practiced and continued playing my diatonic Hohner Bluesband harp, and then one day I had a life-changing harmonica experience. I was 13 years old when I saw the late-great Larry Logan perform on the chromatic harmonica. He played things on the harmonica that I could not believe were possible. This made me realize that this little pocket-sized instrument had a great big world of potential. I went on to be mentored by Mr. Logan, picking up the chromatic harmonica and obsessively learning the songs on his records. A few years later when I began participating in my local music scene in Lafayette, Louisiana, I discovered that harmonica players were hard to come by. I found myself playing harmonica in several bands ranging from Cajun, to Celtic to Latin Jazz! These experiences widened my musical horizon and gave me a solid foundation for tasteful harmonica playing. I eventually found my way back to my roots and mostly play the diatonic harmonica these days. I currently live in Nashville, TN where I perform, record and teach. I look forward to accompanying you on YOUR harmonica journey!
