My passion is music! I have been performing as a musician most of my life, and I have been a music educator for almost twenty-five years. My main instruments are the violin and piano, but I also teach viola and voice. I received my degree from Youngstown State University, where I studied Mr. John Wilcox, former concertmaster of the National Symphony, and Dr. Robert Rollin, an internationally recognized composer. I have taught students as young as two up to the age of ninety. I can't wait to help you on your musical adventure!
I am a violinist with an innovative group of musicians, performing works anywhere from Mozart to Hendrix!
I have had the privilege of performing with the New Music Festival Orchestra, the New Wilmington Opera Guild, Butler County Symphony Orchestra, Youngstown Symphony Orchestra, and various other musical groups,
Our daughter took cello lessons from Esther from 9th grade through her senior year in high school. Esther is an excellent teacher and she taught our daughter so much in such a short amount of time! I so loved going to all her mini recitals too! Especially when they had mini ensemble groups! They did some original scores that just blew me away! One such original was called "School in the Wall" that combined Alice Cooper's School's Out for Summer and Pink Floyd's Brick in the Wall and it was completely awesome! Thanks Esther for teaching Summer!+ Read More
Excellent teacher. I started violin lessons with Esther as a beginner adult in music and violin. I knew very little and was nervous about how to "jump in" to music later in life. Esther patiently and effectively guided me towards realizing my own individual potential. I initially took lessons in-house but then moved out of the country and continued online. She is extremely knowledgeable, reliable and experienced with a real ability to work with students of all levels! I absolutely recommend her to anyone looking for a sincere, gifted teacher who loves sharing music.+ Read More
I would highly reccomend Esther to anyone pursuing a musical talent. She is an amazing performance artist as well as an music educator who is very passionate about both.
She also gave private lessons to my daughter who was a 5yr student of hers & helped my daughter to become a 3yr concert master of her high school orchestra. I was very impressed by Esther's teaching style & it showed through my daughter's performance. So if you're serious about learning music, you will learn from the best!!!! Hands down!
Esther has been instructing my daughters for almost 12 years. She instructs them on the violin and with voice lessons. Its has been amazing to watch their progression. When we moved away from Esther we did not want to leave her instruction. It was a great relief that she provides online lessons. No matter we we are, as a military family, my daughters are able to continue with their instructions by Esther. She is patient and a phenomenal instructors. My daughters have learned a great deal through her. They have gained a passion and love for music because of Esther. She is top notch, you will find no other instructor that has a great love to share her talent.+ Read More
My 11 year old took piano lessons with Esther recently. We went to Esther’s home, but we also did lessons on-line because we live over an hour away (and Esther was very accommodating for weather and so forth). It was apparent that Esther had years and years of experience teaching piano to students. She was full of knowledge of the instrument, home practice tips, and warm/encouraging teaching techniques. I would recommend Esther to any parent looking for piano or violin lessons - to any age student from young to adult! I have considered taking lessons myself!+ Read More

Ms. Esther Howard has been my violin instructor for many years now. I began my studies later in my life as a middle-aged-to-senior man. "Esther" has never ever made me feel inadequate or intimidated in the least while, at the same time, she has continued to encourage me to achieve skills I had never thought I could achieve when at certain times I might become discouraged or frustrated with myself.
Ms. Howard teaches with endless patience and clarity. She personally demonstrates all of the skills and techniques on her own instrument, while guiding the student through the lesson. Ms. Howard is totally focused and engaged with her student during her lesson and utilizes lesson time to the maximum. She encourages continuous growth by teaching utilizing an organized and sequential method and by also encouraging her students to perform in periodic student recitals with family and friends present, which gradually moves her students to a higher level and gets them exposed to performing in a more formal venue. I have grown miles while studying under Ms. Howard, and am forever grateful for having found her as my violin instructor.
Ms. Howard is a very kind person who is extremely skilled with several different musical instruments. She holds a degree in music from Youngstown State University (Ohio) and has performed professionally over the years in addition to her teaching. Ms. Howard is quite intelligent while also demonstrating a very good sense of humor as well.
To any student considering her, rest assured that you will be put at ease and will greatly enjoy studying under Ms. Howard. More importantly, if you stay consistently dedicated to your studies, including consistently attending lessons and engaging in regular practice at home, you will absolutely continue to make significant strides along your path toward mastering your instrument! To sum it up, all I can say is that Ms. Esther Howard is AWESOME, AWESOME, AWESOME!!!
Esther teaches two of my grandkids, ages seven and eight, and I also take piano lessons from her! The kids love her and she definitely knows the subject well. She's firm when she needs to be, but always a centuries the positive. She even includes my four year old grandson in some of the classes. Excellent teacher!+ Read More
