    About ERROL S.

Errol began his music career while in elementary school in Yorktown Heights, NY. He played clarinet with his high school orchestra and band and while taking lessons from a local professional musician, joined his teacher’s dance band that performed at the senior prom. Errol was the featured soloist on clarinet during a few of the songs. Errol is also a fine artist and after serving in the US Navy from 1965-68, Errol embarked on a career as an artist with oil painting as his medium. While working on his initial series of paintings, Errol heard an album on the radio called Silver Apples of the Moon by Morton Subotnik. Because of that influence, Errol vowed to reanimate his music career with synthesizers as his new direction of instrumentation as soon as finances were available to start purchasing the equipment. Errol changed directions with his art and opened a leather handcraft business in 1974. His business boomed and he finally came to the point where he could afford to buy the equipment he so fervently sought to resume his music career. Errol initiated his career with synthesizers and electronic music in 1975. His music studio grew very quickly from one keyboard, the Micro Moog, to an array of over 20 synths, sequencers, sound modulators, recording equipment and other associated sound generating gear. The first album that he released, Fantasy in the Forest, came in 1977 and expeditiously led the way to two more subsequent albums composed in a similar style, namely Nocturnal Voyage and Celestial Wanderer. Both were released in 1978. Since that time, Errol has composed a total of 14 albums of electronic music thus far and four natural environment albums. He is currently working on three new albums to be released beginning in 2022. Quite naturally, his style of music has evolved since the 70’s. Most of the music he now produces he categorizes as the genre of Visionary Music. Errol taught Electronic Music and Synthesizer Technology at Cabrillo College in Santa Cruz California from 1986-1992 and subsequently wrote and published a textbook in 1995, Fundamental Technologies of the Synthesizer, which was utilized by a number of colleges and universities nationwide. Errol’s music has been in utilized in two motion pictures, Timothy Leary’s Dead and The Life After Death Project, produced and directed by Paul Davids, the producer of the movie Roswell.
