I am a piano teacher, classically trained. I started my music education at the age of 7, at the Odessa College of Music in Ukraine. At age 16 I was accepted to the highly prestigious Odessa University of Music, where later I received my BA degree in Piano Pedagogy and Performance, Summa Cum Laude. I then decided to further my education and take a 2 year Piano Performance course at the Odessa Conservatory. For over 30 years thereafter, I am teaching students of all ages. I look to develop problem solving, multitasking and other intangible life skills for my younger students through the power of music. For my adult students, I look to reduce stress and keep their brains working like new. Regardless of age, I work very hard to improve all of my student's memory, brain function, coordination and most importantly teach them how to simply have fun!
I believe that all students can thrive in a learning environment that is stimulating, comforting and appropriate to their abilities.

My lessons are designed based on famous methods of teaching to meet the individual needs and desires of each student.
I am always very patient and will take it as slow as each of my students needs to make sure that he or she understands everything of what is being presented.
I am growing up with the students, building a proper relationship with them and helping them develop life skills through music. I hope for all my students that they will indeed develop skills and attributes through the music experience they have with me.

I am using Alfred's Music for Little Mozarts, Alfred Piano, Bastien Piano, Piano Adventures by Nancy and Randall Faber, Thompson Modern course for beginners. I provide my student with a variety of music styles: classical, jazz, musicals/movie. Also, I introduce them to piano duets. These duets are very useful as supplementary material in a piano program, musically rewarding, and very motivational. I offer preparation to the ABRSM (Associated Board of the Royal Schools of Music) examinations.

Miss Emma is an amazing teacher. She is challenging and nurturing. I particularly love her ability to select the perfect songs for my children. She is also amazing with coaching them on their performance from start to finish- from the second they kids get on stage until the minute they get off, they are focused and confident because of her preparation! We are so thankful to have her as a teacher. My children push themselves hard to impress her because they love her like family!+ Read More

We love Ms. Emma! My boys have been taking lessons with Ms. Emma for over a year. Ms. Emma is so patient, yet firm with them. She understands their very different personalities and adapts lessons to their differing personalities, styles, and needs. She appreciates their individuality and works from there. Excellent teacher for all age groups and skill levels.
As a senior, I started taking piano lessons about 1 year ago. Emma is very patient in her teaching. She gives encouragement and motivation when needed. Her musical knowledge and talent is amazing. I learned much more than I thought possible.
A great piano teacher is the key to success - at any age.
It is with great pleasure that I review my piano teacher of one year, Emma M. I took a few months lessons at age 7 and a few months in my teens and again in my 20s. After being separated from a piano for 30 years, I knew I had to get back to the music I always yearned to play. I searched TakeLessons.com for a piano teacher, and Emma M.'s resume caught my attention. Emma M. understands the adult learner. She helps me focus on what is important as an adult learning to play piano. Emma helps me to set goals, and she focuses my lessons on those goals. Emma M. is a professional educator who understands the human condition, and she puts her knowledge to practice. I am grateful to have found a knowledgeable, dedicated, encouraging, and motivating teacher in Emma M. I feel I have progressed, and I look forward to many more years of learning piano with Emma M.
Miss Emma is the highlight of my daughter's week.
For almost two years, Miss Emma has taught my daughter piano. She is very kind, professional and listens to my child. Instead of simply using method books, she has incorporated beautiful pieces that my daughter really looks forward to playing every week. You can tell Miss Emma really enjoys teaching and each of her students. She is encouraging and has clear goals and expectations for my child. Today so many kids have sports, homework and and other weekly obligations - in the middle of a very hectic week, piano is a time to be quietly thoughtful. She said all of her stress goes away. She is a pretty shy kid, but playing piano - with Miss Emma's advice to play for any audience she can find - she has really come out of her shell and has played for friends, family, classmates, and customers at a local store that has a piano in the entryway. It has been heartwarming watching her become a confident performer. Miss Emma is an amazing teacher.
This product is a great idea !
I have been involved in music since the age of 5 on and off and I say off because I had to concentrate on suporting a family but now that I am free of that responsability I decided that it was time to continue so I found Emma and she has been the best teacher that a person could have and be associated with. She is professional yet not stuffy. I feel that I have advanced more in a little less then a year then if I had had someone else. Of course I realize that I wouldhave advanced even more if I had the time to invest more time in practicing. She has been very patient with me and when discoouraged she seems to always encourage and find the correct words to say. I can not praise her enough.
Very qualified teacher
I have been Mrs. Emma's student for more than two years now, and all I can say is that she is a very caring, qualified teacher who really knows how to train students to not only develop advanced piano-playing techniques, but also a love and true understanding of music. I strongly recommend beginner and advanced piano students alike to take advantage of an opportunity to learn from one of the best local piano teachers out there!
one of the best piano teachers
Ms Emma is one of the best piano teachers that we have met. Her experience and love of teaching shows through in every lesson. She is patient and kind; she helps my 2 sons and daughter to appreciate music and enjoy the piano. I am also her student. Ms. Emma is like a friend and confidante to my daughter (tweenager), and I appreciate that. She teaches each child at their own pace, never rushing the boys and always keeping the older daughter engaged with familiar songs as well as the beautiful classical songs. For me, as an older student, she is always patient and encouraging. She is the ultimate professional.
