Guitar is one of the most versatile instruments out there! Whether you want to play current hits or your favorite oldies, guitar is in just about every song you know. And everyone knows the guitar player is the coolest member of any band! I taught myself to play guitar when I was in middle school, and the learning process never stops, so I always have a new way to learn in my back pocket. My lessons are designed to work for you at your pace, so we can get you rocking as soon as possible!

About Emma G.

Hello! I am a college student at the University of Texas at Arlington and I have been playing guitar for about seven years now! I have always had a passion for sharing music with others, so teaching guitar is my absolute dream job as a student! I tend to be a pretty easygoing teacher, and I focus mostly on making sure my students are hitting learning targets at their own pace and feeling confident when they nail a new skill!

Students can expect lessons that are 100% catered to their needs and growth. There is no perfect formula for how to learn guitar, and everyone has a unique learning style. If you have a passion for guitar, please take the opportunity to learn with me! I firmly believe that everyone can learn music with the right amount of dedication, and I would love to help you along the way!

A few details about lessons with me:
- You will start playing by the end of your first lesson. I believe that the best way to learn is simply to start playing and build from there.
- Beginner students will spend some time going over the general mechanics of guitar and guitar music, including anatomy of the guitar, note names of the strings, and how to read chord charts
- We will start learning where you are comfortable. I promise not to waste your time teaching you something you already know, so we will assess your skills at the beginning and take it from there!
- I have plenty of resources to give you that cost nothing at all, so you will not have to pay anything other than the lesson fees unless you choose to purchase a resource I may recommend for you.
- You are in control of your lessons! If you just want me to teach you how to play a song, that's totally fine! I would love to give you a well-rounded lesson with theory as well as playing, but it's your lesson and you can make what you want of it!

I am very excited to meet you and be a part of your musical journey!

I volunteered in a student-led band all throughout high school at my church. There, I learned from professional musicians and gained experience playing for an audience.
